About Andrew

Andrew J. Patton is a scholar of the New Testament and early Christianity specialising in textual scholarship, manuscript culture, and the transmission and interpretation of biblical texts. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven (Belgium), where he contributes to the Editio Critica Maior of 1 Corinthians.

His research combines text-critical, material, and exegetical approaches to explore how New Testament texts were copied, transmitted, and interpreted in ancient and medieval cultures. Across these projects, he seeks to understand how the textual and material histories of the New Testament shape its development and reception and enrich its study today.

His current research includes a monograph on the development of the catenae on the Gospels, research on the textual history of 1 Corinthians, and collaborative projects on bilingual and fragmentary New Testament manuscripts.
